Hi there! June flew by and July seems like it’s going even faster, but I want to get back to more regular posting now that vacations and holidays are done for a while.
But before we get back to some fun (and weird) thoughts I’ve been pondering, I wanted to report on how we did during the month and share a few observations about the first half of the year.
Though we didn’t have any crazy sales in June, we did release a few things… The latest One Spot and the first Moebius product written by freelancer George Fields (which garnered some great reviews!). Little Spaces: Tavern Trouble and Insta-NPCs #3: Scum and Villainy, Inc. were also released and did pretty well. And we put out a freebie for Free RPG Day called “The Smiler” who still gives me the willies. So 4 full weeks of June, 4 releases. I’d say that was a pretty good rate of production. We’ll be a bit behind that in July since I’ve been gone on a couple of trips, but we’ll see what we can come up with.
And we hosted the June RPG Blog Carnival on the topic “What’s in the hole?” which generated quite a few great posts around the RPG blogging community, so I thank everybody who participated or simply stopped by to read!
So traffic-wise we didn’t do badly. We had nearly 1900 page views, 1400+ unique visits, and of those visits, nearly 1100 were first time and 300 were returning folks. All these numbers are right around the same as last month, so I’ll take some consistency. A good number of those hits came from StumbleUpon (about 250) but the rest were scattered all over, which was good.
Sales-wise even without a crazy sale we had a great month. Across the three stores we had 432 downloads (327 of those were freebies), so 1/4 of the sales we had were paying customers which is awesome. The Smiler was grabbed 191 times, but more encouraging were the 12 sales of One Spot #3 , the 25 sales of Insta-NPCs #3, and the 19 sales of Tavern Trouble. Beyond those three it seems interest remains high for more Insta-NPCs, which is terrific since there’s at least one of those on the horizon in July. 🙂
I’d post a graph showing sales for the month, but it’s getting really cluttered and won’t really show much. If you’re interested, I’m happy to create one (I’ve been tracking sales via a spreadsheet all year)!
So thank you thank you thank you to anyone who picked up a Moebius product in June – you are all amazing. Thank you George for writing such a cool supplement and hopefully we’ll have you back to write more!
As far as the first 6 months of 2014, I couldn’t be happier. The last three months have seen 300-400+ downloads each month with a total of about 1500 downloads so far. I think having a deeper catalog has made a big impact, as well as more regular contact with customers via the DTRPG/RPGNow publisher tools. A year ago I was wondering if I was heading the right direction, but now I know more than ever that I truly am.
And we’ll see where July takes us as we chug into the second half of the year. I’m happy you are all along for the ride! 🙂
